THE BLUEWAVE ANTENNA CONCEPT COMPANY OVERVIEW Bluewave Antenna Systems Ltd. was founded in 1996 to serve the SCADA industry by building easy-to-install antennas designed to perform flawlessly for long periods of time in harsh environments. A willingness to listen to customer’s views on the deficiencies of some common existing products led to some early and very successful industry innovations by Bluewave, such as our patented dipole design, and a custom length feed cable for SCADA field applications. Today, Bluewave’s design and manufacturing philosophies have grown into a specialization that serves a wide variety of SCADA, wireless industrial automation, land mobile radio and homeland security applications. Bluewave builds hundreds of different antennas and accessories for use in a wide variety of applications and are classified by series. Bluewave’s signature line, the Marathon series, has by far the most number of antenna models, options and accessories, and remains our core product line. Demand for the Summit line, originally conceived for use in coastal applications, has taken off with the skyrocketing demand for high performance antennas requiring high survivability and reliability. The Guardian line is Bluewave’s ‘mass market’ entry, targeted at the local price-conscious SCADA market, and has found an incredible market acceptance, the world over. Bluewave antennas are found worldwide. Our antennas are in locations ranging from the Canadian Arctic, south through Central America all the way into Chile. Many thousands of Bluewave antennas have been installed in gas and oil fields throughout the United States and Canada. As well, Bluewave has supplied international projects in Poland, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Yemen, and Australia - wherever system reliability and operating economics are valued. Research & Development The company has always performed its own research and development work in-house, and even maintains its own far-field testing facilities. Bluewave recently acquired the latest in antenna design software: Ansoft HFSS™ Simulation Software. This software will greatly reduce development time for new antennas, particularly in the higher frequencies above 1000 MHz. Bluewave is increasingly known for its technical competence, innovative designs, craftsmanship, and dependable customer service. The company has the flexibility and systems to support custom orders, private labeling and OEM solutions. The Production and Technical Support teams are single-minded in driving new quality, cost and value standards. Manufacturing Facilities Bluewave Antenna designs, manufactures and ships all of its products from corporate headquarters located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Some 3500 square feet is set aside for Sales, Accounting and administrative support, while over 13,000 square feet of floor space is devoted solely to manufacturing. The latest in automated, computerized Haas Automation ® metal-working machinery ensures exact and consistent components for the antennas; four high frequency TIG welding stations are constantly in use; and a Schleuniger™ computerized cable preparation machine delivers precisely cut and dressed cables for each antenna. Critical applications require fail-safe operations; any degradation of antenna performance is unacceptable. Bluewave’s strengths are in its proprietary and patented designs, flexible engineering processes and the ability to rapidly customize superior products for specific applications and customers.
